Metallic Eye Shadow - A Few Available Options

Most models wear metallic eye shadow at some point in their careers. We often see these models wearing this type of eye shadow in magazines or on movie posters. It isn’t the type of eye shadow a corporate woman would wear as it is too “loud” for office board rooms. Metallic eye shadow is best suited with evening apparel or clothing that is not run-of-the-mill. I find it rather interesting that women who are wearing this type of eye decoration invariably never seem to smile. I wonder why. This form of eye shadow has been around for many years and it is therefore not uncommon to see it worn by a woman on a night out.

There are many different makers of this form of eye shadow and I’m told competition is fierce. LA Colors Metallic Eye Shadow retails for around $12.00 and a kit contains 12 palettes and an applicator. The colors have a brilliant shimmer and make the wearer’s eyes stand out. Consumers are able to purchase extra colors to the already array of different shades - a complete set has 60 colors. This product is clearly a reasonable price for frugal shoppers, which is probably why the brand is gaining in popularity. Another maker attracting a large following of eye shadow groupies is Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadow. This brand, like the previous, has many vivid colors offering a high shimmer. The makeup also has a high pigment formula stopping it from reacting with your skin and causing irritation. Long lasting and easy to apply, the Bobbi Brown series of eye shadows are truly high class.

So, what’s the attraction with this sort of eye makeup? Why do many women insist on decorating their eyes with “paint”. I could theorize and say that eye makeup is meant to attract the opposite sex. Perhaps the Neanderthals were attracted to the female of the species if she had colorful eyes, therefore telling the grunting, hirsute being that she is able to copulate and produce offspring. Indeed it is said that early man, mated with his partner when the female’s face had a red ting to it. This apparently meant the female was ovulating and therefore, could be the reason why women wear rouge today. The same, I suppose, could be said for the eyes and women wearing metallic eye shadow are perhaps, subconsciously competing with other women to attract a male. Indeed metallic eye shadow does stand out from conventional eye shadow.
