Lip Gloss
Red lip
gloss does not only add shine and sparkle to your lips; it
can also enhance the overall look of your makeup. A
perfectly made up face does not look complete if your lips
do not have a nice coat on it for that elegant smooth
finish. But how do you choose the perfect red lip gloss for
your lips?
When you
stand before a makeup counter in a drugstore or department
store, you may feel more confused than ever with all the
lipstick and lip gloss products standing in line looking all
cute and perfect for you. But you will only need one red lip
gloss for your makeup kit, and it will have to be the right
shade for your lip color. You can now get out of the habit
of buying the wrong shade of lipsticks and glosses by
following these tips on getting the right red lip
gloss.
According to
makeup artist Bobbi Brown, the most flattering lip color or
tone for your lipstick or gloss should be at least one to
two shades darker than you natural lip tone. You can test
the shade by applying the gloss to just one lip and compare
the color to your bare lip. If you can see that it’s darker
by one or two shades but more or less of the same tone, then
it should be the perfect red lip gloss shade for you. But if
you are in a department store like Wal-Mart where you are
not allowed to try the lipsticks or gloss before buying
them, you can trust the color printed on the box. Just hold
it up to your lips and check in the mirror if the shade is
good for you. It is also best if you check the color out in
a window where there is natural light to be sure you have
the right shade.
When picking
the right shade of red lip gloss, the secret is in choosing
the right undertones. If you are pink-skinned, you should
choose cherry red color, while those with olive skin can
wear fire-engine red. Dark-skinned girls are perfect in deep
red lipstick and gloss. But keep in mind that it is not best
to match your perfectly made-up red lips with your outfit.
You might also want to keep your nails to a lighter color in
a different shade so it will not clash with your red
lipstick color, or if you have to wear red nails, make sure
it is of the exact shade as that of your lips.
